How do dog's "see" with their noses?

 Hello Everyone,

Me and my buddy have been currently working on our information report about how dog's see with their noses. We have now finished it and it has many things about how dog's see with their noses. Last week we watched a video about it and there were questions we had to answer and it was kinda of just a summery of the video. After, we were given a piece of paper as our plan to create a information report about how dog's see with their noses. Me and my buddy had to do a lot of thinking making sure each paragraph was quite different and that the conclusion summaries up everything.

It was quite fun doing a information report about how dog's see with their noses, because not only we got to research about it, we learnt lots of interesting facts about dogs noses. Did you know dog's can breathe in and out at the same time?

How do Dogs “see” with their noses?

Dogs have many different kinds of features but their nose is the best feature of all. Other species might have a great sense of smell but a dog’s sense of smell is quite different to others.

If you ever wonder how a dog’s nose works, inside there are two separate parts. One for smelling and

the other for breathing. Their noses have many features that help it work. The part of their brain that helps

them identify scents and smells is smarter and stronger than a human’s brain. Dogs can help us humans

cause they can also tell if you have cancer or any type of sickness which is why they are better at smelling

than us.

The dog's brain has a good memory. Once they smell something it gets stuck in their head, and if they ever

come across it again they will know what it is. For example: If a car was in a parking lot and it just left

then a dog will know that a car has been there cause they know the smell of a car, another example is that if

a person was sitting next to a tree and just left then a dog came by then they will know that there has been a

person there cause they know a smell of a person. Dogs are really smart when it comes to smelling different

types of things.

A dog’s nose can’t only smell, but can also sense different types of emotions and things. An example of

this is when someone is feeling quite emotional and upset. A dog can sense their emotions through their

smell by feeling and being familiar with the smell to know how someone is feeling. They can also identify

an object or a thing by being able to smell it once and remembering the scent of it.

The amount of help they give through their noses for everyone and themselves is truly wonderful. Did you

know that dogs have 300 million smell cells and humans only have 5 million? Dogs have many other

amazing features about their noses and also different body parts too but the nose is definitely a feature that

can help us and others.
