See You In The Cosmos

See You In The Cosmos

In class, we have been reading a book called See You In The Cosmos, and it is about a boy who has an golden iPod that he wanted to launch to space, and he has all his recordings in there. Also at the ending, I kind of found it a bit boring but sad too.
 As we were reading the book, our teacher gave us this slideshow about the book and there were activities in it that we had to do each week.
 For my one, I was away on a holiday and I didn't get to catch up with some of the activities and read some of the book, but I still did get to do week 9's and 10's one and to read a bit of See You In The Cosmos.                              


When it was the ending of the book, some people didn't want it to end and some people wanted to finish it before term 3 ends.
What I learnt about this book, is to be brave of what is happening around you, especially adult problems that can involve you in it or your own self involving you in it.

Maori Language

WALT investigate different aspects of Te Reo Maori. 
As it was Maori language week, we did an activity during reading about one of the language we have in NZ which is Maori and there is some tasks that we have to complete but we only have to do 3 to 4 tasks because there are about 7 tasks and I think because we might have not time to post it in our blog, as it is nearly the holidays or something like that.. 
 When we are doing the tasks we have chosen, we can put lots of information as we like and there is this website that is linked in our goggle doc where it can help us with our Te Reo Maori and where we can use it to help us with our tasks. 
 I really tried my best so I hope you like it!

For Task 2, we had to introduce ourselves in Maori and I managed to put many facts I can about myself.


What I really enjoyed is that I get to choose what task I get to do and designing them all.
What I found difficult is looking for words but some of them is not in the website Mrs Lee put in the doc she shared with us. 
What I can improve on is maybe, actually adding lots of facts, because after I looked at it, it was alright but before I posted it, that's when I realised it needs more, so I will try and work on that. 

The Church's 3 Stories

WALT identify significant people in the early Church and 
explain their roles in the community.

In class, for R.E, last week we learnt about famous people that were living in the early church's and there were links to stories about them in our class site. There were about 6 famous people that were living in the early churches that we had to learn about. 
There was Peter, Lydia, Aquila and Priscilla, Stephen, Phoebe and Paul.

We all had to make an animaker and choose three out of 6 to put in our animaker. We are also trying to use animaker so in the future we know what to do and how to use it with out needing help.
As there were lots of Jesus's followers, there were more than 6 famous people that were mentioned in the bible and in the early church, but here are the people that are sometimes mentioned in the bible and the early Church.


The person I admire the most is Stephen because he did the right thing and he believed in Jesus as some people didn't, and that he also was stoned to death for believing in Christ. 

I can help the church today by going to church everyday and trying to help other people that doesn't believe in Jesus Christ and to make them believe that they are part of God's creation and they are safe with God and others if they believe.

While church's are still living and they are good hands with God, try to do your best and go to church with your family and you will be blessed by Christ.

Infographic - What is a Sandstorm?

WALT  unpack sentences using gestures with ITTM.
 In class, my reading group had read a story about sandstorms and what they are. We also unpacked some sentences while reading it together. The story we read about sandstorms is a information report and a explanation writing. 
In one of our activities we had to do a infographic about our story and I choose to do a list again because I really like using it and that, it is more easier for people to understand.

On my last post about my infographic, some people had some things they commented on my post and it was to improve on more text and details, so this time I managed to have more details and facts about my post and I hope you like it..!

Hike

 For writing last week, we looked back from term one or two, about descriptive writing and we it was about our 5 senses and what we did was, Mrs Lee had to put a photo on the tv and we had to use our 5 senses, smell, hear, taste, see and touch. For our descriptive writing we also had to describe what was happening and not just saying, "I can smell..."I can hear...", we really needed to make it a bit catchy and more interesting to read. We can also make it to a story to make it fun but we still needed to add the 5 senses.

Here is my writing and I hope you like it:
Hike

In the warm summer breeze, up high a mountain I felt like I was a winner. 

You could never ever smell anything fresher, warmer, and relaxing. You can just relax by smelling the fresh breeze air coming from trees all over the place. Also, very closely, you can smell the delicious food coming from the close by bakeries near the forest. If you try to smell all of them at the same time, it would smell extraordinary and amazing like the rainbows across the sky, but that’s impossible to smell rainbows, but just imagine it. By the smell of all of the you can also smell lovely flowers from a flower garden across the whole field.

Any further we can reach the higher mountain and see more wonderful things. Like the nature from every forest, you would never ever see lovely plants growing near them. In the tall buildings it looks like it is going up all the way to the moon or the sun. The beautiful waves coming from the ocean and the lovely, colorful leaves falling from tall trees. 

From all the vision our hike wasn’t finished yet and we were not ready to leave. My partner said,
“Can you hear that?”
“No”
I answered, but few seconds later I was hearing a noise too, and it was coming from a tall tower near a big blueberry bush, and that singing we heard it was beautiful and spectacular. Suddenly, we heard another sound coming from the small trees growing and it was our town, we never knew it was that loud and noisy. But then we were hearing different sounds and it was coming from the same place we left our things. As we walked back, we were amazed from all the animals singing, like birds chirping, cows mooing, dogs barking, deer grunting, chickens clucking and even a farmer singing. We stopped.our stuff wasn’t there, but when the wind came we heard a whooshing sound it felt wonderful.

Come on don’t stop we are nearly there. We stopped for a moment to take a rest but as I sat down, I felt myself sitting on an ice because it is really cold but it was actually just a rock. When a big huge cloud was coming our way it made a huge wind and it felt so cold and freezing. As it was so cold I put my blanket on and it felt warmer and I didn’t feel any coldness anymore. When I was watching the waves, I saw one wave coming to shore but it wasn’t a normal wave, it was huge and nearly tall twice as a surfing board on top of each other, and it made a big and loud wind and it was so relaxing.

Finally, we were there. My partner was actually scared of heights so it’s only me that made it up and he said that he wants to taste his mum’s donuts. But the thing I taste right now is victory because the taste of it makes you feel like just to relax and let go of the things that is happening. I can also taste the fresh air coming from near clouds above the mountains near by.

The hike wasn’t that bad actually because it is more fun to experience new things and see the world without even imagining.

Infographic - Do Thunder and Lightning Go Together


This week, for reading, one of our task, we are doing  a info graphic about what causes thunder and lightning. We have all watched a video to understand the story we are reading and to make our info graphic interesting, we can do different kind of info graphic. 

For my one I have chosen a list about thunder and lightning and to find out facts about it, of course we did read the story first. For our reading we read a non-fiction story so that means we read something about real life.

Responsibility

 Our school C.E.R.R Values are Compassion, Excellence, Responsibility and Respect, and in each 4 terms we have different C.E.R.R Values that we have to show, do and say, because it can help us to learn new things and experience new things as well. This term we are focusing on Responsibility and that means that we have to be responsible with our things, ourselves and sometimes others. We can do that by actually doing our own things properly and doing what were told.

Also in class we have tried to do screencastify on our chromebooks so in the future we are able to do it on our own but we had some trouble doing it. There was a little trouble with the mute and how to screencastify. Some people had music on their one so they had to go somewhere like the corridor or somewhere. Our teacher told us just to try our best and do what we can do, and everyone did try their best, I think so.


I really hope that you can also show responsibility properly and showing you own school C.E.R.R Values.

The Clumsy Space Trooper

In class, for writing we have learnt to write collaborative writing but working as a group. A collaborative means working with two or more guests to make a story or writing. Before we started we went into our groups and decided what our story is going to be about. Then we did another activity but we had to stay in the same group and we went on Story starters and pulled the lever to find out what category we have write about. After, we were told to make a picture book with our group but first we had to make a draft then we make our picture book.

Me and my group has done lots of things but especially 
my group because I was absent for a bit long.

Elephant Whisperer

In class we have been doing some reading and this week my reading group read a story about a girl who loves elephants so much and she even has a stuffed toy elephants, books about elephant and her first word was elephant and one day Charlotte was at the zoo and met a elephant called Samba. 
We also had a follow up we had to do and it was to use MindMup to make a story web about our story that we read.

Every reading group has a different story and they all have to make a MindMup or something to put our story web in so that we can post it to our blog and put a feedback on the people in our group's blog, so that we know what we can improve or do the next time we do an mindmup.
