Maori Language Week

 Hello guys,

Last week was Maori Language week and today I managed to complete my Maori language week activity and post it to my blog. For this activity we looked through some new tools we could use to be more creative with our DLO's. After, they were some slides we could choose through to make a DLO about. The slides were about Maori colors, Maori alphabet and etc). I choose to do Maori Greetings on my one and chose to be creative and made it into a story using Book Creator. Book Creator is a an app where you can make comic books or just books. 

Maori Titles

WALT identify how Jesus is Matamua and Tuakana and explain the significance of this.

This week is the last week of the term and we are doing online work as school is cancelled because of the virus. We can do work if we want but its best to do some. For R.E we were learning about Maori titles independently and there was some few different Maori titles that we had to find out what it meant and create a DLO after that to teach others about the Maori titles.

We also had to add some sound into our DLO as last week we learnt about SISOMO, we need to make sure that other people that are blind or can't hear, can see or hear. SISOMO stands for Sight, Sound, and Motion. 

Maori Language

WALT investigate different aspects of Te Reo Maori. 

As it was Maori language week, we did an activity during reading about one of the language we have in NZ which is Maori and there is some tasks that we have to complete but we only have to do 3 to 4 tasks because there are about 7 tasks and I think because we might have not time to post it in our blog, as it is nearly the holidays or something like that.. 

 When we are doing the tasks we have chosen, we can put lots of information as we like and there is this website that is linked in our goggle doc where it can help us with our Te Reo Maori and where we can use it to help us with our tasks. 

 I really tried my best so I hope you like it!

For Task 2, we had to introduce ourselves in Maori and I managed to put many facts I can about myself.

What I really enjoyed is that I get to choose what task I get to do and designing them all.

What I found difficult is looking for words but some of them is not in the website Mrs Lee put in the doc she shared with us. 

What I can improve on is maybe, actually adding lots of facts, because after I looked at it, it was alright but before I posted it, that's when I realised it needs more, so I will try and work on that. 

Matariki

WALT retell the story of Matariki and identify the significance of this time.
June and July represents the month of Matariki. Matariki is about the 6 daughters of Matariki. At the night of Matariki, there are 7 stars at the sky and they are represented as the 6 daughters and Matariki.

For the last week of Term 2 we have been learning about Matariki. As we learnt about the celebrations that we have in Matariki, we made a DLO showing the facts about Matariki and her 6 daughters. We also read more facts about Matariki and listened to videos. After we have finished our DLO, we post to our blogs to show others who are those 7 stars at the sky.

TeTiriti o te Waitangi

WALT identify the significance and importance of te Tiriti o te Waitangi to Aotearoa New Zealand. WAlT create a DLO of what you have learnt. For this month of Waitangi we have learnt about the 

Treaty of Waitangi and the history. We also had to add why it was celebrated and when it was signed. The treaty was signed by to different country and languages and one of the reasons it was singed because of the different conflict that they had.

Maori Colours

We learnt the colors in Te Reo Maori.We sang the song "Ma is white" to help us remember.

Our task was to create a Google Drawing showing the different colors in Maori.
