What is the purpose of a blog post?

Today we continued to work on our slideshow from last week. The slideshow was about the purposes of a blog post. In the slideshow it had many videos and comic strips about three main reasons why we post on our blogs. The three main reasons are to teach others, to receive feedback and to publish. 

Before making a comic strip we had to think more about the purpose of a blog post so in some slides there was a fridge, and on the fridge there were like 3 to 6 questions. Like who is the audience, then at the side there would be some options like 8 to 12 years old and etc. At the sides of the fridge there would be some blog posts, one at each sides that we looked through. All of them were from other different schools from our cluster.  

After answering the questions, it was time to make our comic strip and trying something new, they recommended us this app called Flaticon. In it there were many little cute characters we could use in google drawings or many other stuff.

All About Me! (2021)

Hello, 

Today we looked at our old all about me and the last time I probably made one was in 2016 or 2017. It was a long time ago and I could remember I was a lot younger that time and I probably didn't know English that much. Today we made a new all about me and its probably a lot different than our old one because we've made lots of new memories and learnt a lot of new things and found a lot of new interests.

It has kinda been a while since my last post but today I have something helpful to post. Today my class learnt about how to care for our chrome books and to keep our information protected. The activity was to make a DLO to show others how to take care for our chrome books and carefully write a summary about what we talked about in class.

Constructing Media

 Hey everyone,

I know it has been quite long since I have posted and I hope to keep up on things so that I get to post more. Today I am going to tell and show you about what we were doing for cybersmart. We were looking at What is Media. As a class we watched some videos and never really got to do the activities but in the beginning of this week we started to look at constructing media. We watched more videos about it and some information which was about advertisement and got to make one for ourselves. 

For one of the activities, it was to make a newspaper article about an event that happened at school. The majority of us made a newspaper article about camp which happened two weeks ago and lots of us had a very fun time. I actually got ideas from some other students who presented the same thing in senior assembly and it was really cool. I tried making my newspaper article very cool too and this is what I made myself:

Uru Manuka Student Summit 2020

Hello guys, 

Today our class and Room 5 were busy nearly all morning because we were joining these hangouts about different toolkits. They were 4 sessions/hangouts we joined in different hours and learnt different tool and skills to use in the future. Yesterday we actually had to fill in a form on what which hangouts we would like to join/learn on each sessions.

One of the session I joined was very amusing because people were very nice and explained it very well so i think they did an awesome job. After every session we would have to fill this form in about if we enjoyed it and what we like about it.

About my other sessions they were very fun and amusing too because some of them really taught me new things but some were talking kinda fast and some people in the hangout also tried their best to keep up on what they person who was representing was saying.

Come and Join Summer Learning Journey!

This week Emma came to our class for the last time this year to help us with the Summer Learning Journey programme. Instead of doing another activity for teaser week, we had to make a poster or something to invite others to come and join for the Summer Learning Journey programme.

Responsibility

 Our school C.E.R.R Values are Compassion, Excellence, Responsibility and Respect, and in each 4 terms we have different C.E.R.R Values that we have to show, do and say, because it can help us to learn new things and experience new things as well. This term we are focusing on Responsibility and that means that we have to be responsible with our things, ourselves and sometimes others. We can do that by actually doing our own things properly and doing what were told.

Also in class we have tried to do screencastify on our chromebooks so in the future we are able to do it on our own but we had some trouble doing it. There was a little trouble with the mute and how to screencastify. Some people had music on their one so they had to go somewhere like the corridor or somewhere. Our teacher told us just to try our best and do what we can do, and everyone did try their best, I think so.

I really hope that you can also show responsibility properly and showing you own school C.E.R.R Values.

All About Me 2019

WALT use Google Drawing to create a drawing about me.
Hi I am Denise and I am from St Bernadette School, I am a year 6 turning 11 and I am in Room 5 and I am born in Philippines and grew up in New Zealand. I have been in St Bernadettes School for 3 years.
Here is my All About Me 2019 work:

It is 2019 and for Cybersmart we had to make a google drawing about us and make our own pictures using polyline and curve. We also had to add our favorite food, animal and the country we wanted to go and why. It was kind of hard tracing my pictures but I think I did well.

Creative Drawing

WALT use curve on our devices and a curve is something that you do to trace an out line. This week for Cybersmart we had to make a google drawing and search up what we like on explore and trace the image of what we made using curve.

Scratch Jr

In class we tried a new Icon in our computer and it is called Scratch Junior. Before we had to do that we had to learn the different buttons on the app and that we also had a challenge and it is to make a Dance party with four characters or Running race with 3 scenes. I would give this app a rating of 8 out of 10 because it was so much fun and I really want you to try it out and give it a rating too.

What I want if I won

For this week after we had all done lesson 1 to lesson 5 we moved on to other stuff and that is we are going to do some of the summer learning journey and before we do that we had to tell others what we want if we won the summer learning activities and there are some prizes if you win.
